Sharkboy, founded in 1992 by Preston born Brighton based songstress Avy as a 6-piece band, releasing two critically acclaimed albums with Nude, featuring Americana, dream-pop and lounge-core stories of dark romance.

Sounding somewhere between Mazzy Star , PJ Harvey & Tindersticks.

Sharkboy’s past history includes collaborations with Suede, The Cocteau Twins’ Robin Guthrie and singing the odd backing vocal for David Baker of Mercury Rev. She has been likened to Annette Peacock, Kate Bush and the late, great folk singer Nico.

30 years on from Sharkboy’s first Nude album release ‘Matinée’, she returns to the rock and roll dream-field with collaborations, multi-media performances that include her award-winning stop-motion films, drawn art and romantic soundtracks.
