Mainstream

A 5 piece band who after performing several successful gigs attracted label interest. Channeling the post rock sound of The Verve and Led Zeppelin they signed to Nude in early 1995 and released 4 singles and recorded one album (also called Mainstream). The band comprised Anthony Neale (voice), James Hartnell (guitars), Conrad Mewton (bass), Greg Cook (keyboards) and Mark James Aviss (drums).

The album was produced with The Cult’s guitarist Billy Duffy at the helm. Video for Step Right Up directed by Oasis /Verve art director Brian Cannon .

They toured with Reef, Bluetones and Catatonia before splitting up shortly after the album release in 1998.
